I started to play with Aviary

As a first project I tried to copy the photo of my camera and cameraman behind it onto a shiny surface. Probably there are better ways to do it, for now I am satisfied with this much visibility.
I used 3 layers:
1) the apple and the tree
2) middle layer: photo of kamera and kameraman
3) the top layer is the shiny version of just the apple.

The original is 14000 X 14000 pixels

Our logo is a very similar palm with a gradient background depicting clouds.
I built and painted this to print @ 6ft and go on the wall in one of our offices, to give an alternate representation of our logo.
I will probably finish this with a semi-transparent "stamp" of our company name.

Comments/suggestions/critiques welcome

I looooove the palette knife feel to it! even the little specs of red in the sky look really nice. My only suggestion would be to neutralize, the blue ontop of the horizon line, maybe even throw in a hint of violet to have it recede into the background. Great image, love it! Great job hooskerface!

Yeehaaa
I have posted here earlier my first encounter with layers. Now I made an image that was actually appreciated by others too.
I got 7 upvotes on aviary.
I'm happy.
