Does 3 months count as new? I lurked around for a couple of months before I signed up. I signed up because a story I thought should have been posted wasn't. Had to sign up and post it and that was all she wrote.

I am a Navy Brat, married, and have 2.5 grandchildren (3rd is due in September). I won't say my age, as I prefer the curmudgeonly old grandpa persona and I am way too young to be a grandpa yet.

From my bio:
By location: Yokosuka (Japan), China Lake (CA), Norfolk (VA), Pax River (MD), Brunswick (ME), Pensacola (FL), Aguana (Guam), Fallon (NV), Oak Harbor (WA), Henderson (NV), Las Vegas (NV), Bend (OR), Gardnerville (NV)

Reason: Navy Brat

By Occupation: Retail stocker(16 yo), Library assistant (16-18 yo), Data Entry keypunch operator, Computer Operator (Mainframe), Computer Programmer (Mainframe), IT Manager, IT Consultant, Project Management Consultant, Project Manager of Software development

By maturity level: Infant, toddler, child, pre-adolescent, adolescent, young adult, adolescent

Hobbies: shooting sports, Reading (Science Fiction), Internet surfing, playing with my grandkids (YES, GRANDKIDS!!!!), conservative politics, smiling menacingly at people who hear "conservative politics" and assume I am a religious wacko

Pet peeve of the week: Nimrods who don't know the scientific method and think that since scientist only present a "theory" that any anecdotal "evidence" can "prove it wrong" (and that proving the "scientific theory" wrong somehow makes their theory correct.) (The same argument is used by UFO nuts, big foot enthusiasts, gun control maniacs and creationist.)

If anyone wants to talk to me on realtime/on MSN devilboy29@hotmail.com (I made that when I was twelve so...)

For a minute I thought it read "Stoney Rapids" instead of "Stoney Creek". Oakville is in Onterrible, no? (j/k about the onterrible part, the north of your province is really quite nice!) I highly doubt you'd know where Stoney Rapids is, but that's near where I'll be on Monday.

hello! i'm indisguise.

about my user name: i'm indisguise at most of the sites i frequent, sometimes i spell it in-dis-guise othertimes in_dis_guise. it usually depends on if its already been used at the site in question. i'm not hiding or famous....the name was meant to be in dis guise (in this guise ....get it?) but a lot of sites will not allow a space in your username.

about me: i'm a 39 year old woman, i live in st. paul, mn, usa. i discovered the plime link over at worth1000 and decided to check it out. cool site, i like it! i dabble in photoshop stuff (my reason for being at worth1k...) and i also have a deviantart account: if you want to check it out. i mostly post photos i took there (another hobby of mine).

i love things that are funny, art, music, south park, neopets, cats (i have 5), and trash tv.

well.....i think that's enough introduction for me! hope everyones having an outstanding day!

Yeah that is in Onterrible (Thats a new one to me) Yeah I couldn't agree more Northern Ontario is quite a remarkable place, If you ever get the chance get up to north bay or surrounding areas they are quite magnificent the wilderness and the fishing. Can't say I do know where Stoney Rapids is but I just googled it is it in Saskatchewan?

Sure is!

Northern Ontario is quite nice, but I have to say that I still consider Sudbury and North Bay to be "southern Ontario". Those cities aren't even north of the 49th parallel!

Fort Albany is nice, as is Thunder Bay, Kenora, Dreyden.... far away from people. I find even the most "remote" parts of Ontario aren't all that remote, though, there's always evidence of people somewhere. For real wilderness and fishing, I recommend the territories, but I guess they might be for away for you to get to. I'm glad to hear you like your province, although I think every Canadian is very proud of his/her province. I know I am! Do you have any big Canada Day festivities planned?

We're drinking Moosehead and launching off bear bangers in lieu of fireworks. We might even have a snowball fight, depending on where I am by then.

To be quite honest with you I am not a huge fan of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) It is nice but the problem is it is way to Americanized unfortunately I have no plans for Canada Day... (I am probably working anyways)

I have a tonne of family from your consideration of Northern Ontario and I do love to go there to but somehow and I never though it would be me living in/near to a supercity like Toronto I find that there is never enoguh going on(I AM CURSED :( )I do like Ontario but north of lets say Perry Sound, We used to have a cottage on the French River in Noelleville (little town with about 200 people tops) so many memories there! I have heard of going to the territories for fishing (my Dads friend goes up every year, so far that they need a plane) I am not a huge fishing nut, although when I do go I throughly enjoy it.

I didn't realise this thread existed until a few days ago. Guess I better introduce myself then:

I too came to Plime from Worth.

I was born in Redhill, Surrey, UK and grew up in Wales, (Porthcawl on the south coast of Glamorgan). I left Wales in '76 and emigrated to Calgary, Alberta. Moved to Vancouver Island about three years later and have lived here ever since. That's about 25 year now. I love it here! I'm 46 with the maturity of a 13 year old.

I worked for about 12 years in the robotics industry as a mechanical designer and worked on projects involving automated subsea vehicles with robotic manipulator arms. Very interesting stuff. I packed that in eventually and returned to school to get my teaching degree. I'm now a teacher.

Hobbies:
Guitar... Played in a rock band in Victoria, BC for years. Eventually took up jazz which is now my main musical interest. I still enjoy most kinds of music. (Not a big fan of country or rap tho).
Art: I love sculpture. I want to learn to weld so I can make big steel things.

Well shoot. It looks like this intruduction thing is the very thing to do.

Well, I'm Kirbykirst. I guess the username is one of those things that evolved when I was in a very clever mood and mixed my name (Kirsten) with an old childhood nickname (Kirby/kirbo). I'm from Billings, Montana but I go to school in Spokane, Washington. I'll be a sophomore in college next year and I'm insane. That could also mean that I'm a chemistry major. Let's see, I have a weakness for really cute (really big) dogs, I sing in the shower, every once in a while I take up knitting only to remember that I'm too impatient to finish a project, I read things (really, all sorts of things), I call my little brother pookie, I used to be what I delicately call a "choir kid," and I love the words "Proclivity" and "Nebulous."
