Little feet padding toward me on the carpet, a poke in the ribs, and "Nanny?" at 3 AM (I was at my friend's house). What a sweet l'il fella.

I spent the day with my mother-in-law helping her through the process of getting ready for a mastectomy. We went from doctor to doctor, talking with all kinds of people and doing tests to make sure she's healthy enough for surgery, and know exactly what needs to be removed.

When we got to the ultrasound area the tech looked nothing like, but sounded exactly like, Teri Garr in "Young Frankenstein." Whenever she asked my MIL to "rrroll" on her side, or talked about "ze doctor" I had to stifle the urge to giggle and ask her to say, "Roll, roll, roll in ze hay!" My MIL caught me smiling a few times, and asked me what was up when the tech left the room. When I told her, she busted out laughing - turns out Young Frankenstein is one of her favorite movies too.

Booking tickets to watch Motorhead next week and finding out The Damned were supporting.

Installed Karmic* Koala today.

15 minutes to format my hard drive and install the whole OS. 45 seconds from power on to running desktop, and it looks so damn good too.

Still exploring, but so far it all seems good.

You can upgrade directly from 9.04 to 9.10 as long as make sure to apply all updates to 9.04 first.

Either open a command line and type sudo apt-get dist-upgrade or look on the Update Manager screen and you should see a button there.

No need to wipe it, that was just my preference this time round.

Dunno, my dog never has a hard time catching her tail. Sometimes she will just hold onto it for fun.

Does it make you smile? When my cat chases his tail (and catches it, he always does), it's an automatic smile for me.

And for a snow leopard, which is mostly tail and a big regal cat, to catch one is just awesome!

Our weather forecasters are whacked.

Right now, it's supposed to be +3 and sunny. Right now, it IS -2 and snowing, but not quite puking.

I've started saving the weather forecasts every 12 hours or so and it's hilarious how much they change. I guess that's how it goes living in the mountains, though.

This is the third big snowfall of the year here, and I hope this one stays. It's all stayed higher up, but I want it to stay here, too.

Yes it do. But she is also the worlds cutest dog, everything she does makes me smile.

My phone is now completely back to normal.

There was some minor beer spillage on Thursday night when I was watching things explode and hanging out with DTF & Doodles as the result of a crowdly jostling.

For a time it was refusing to behave or even start, due to some beer that had made it's way into the mechanism. I can't criticise it for that because the same thing has happened to me before now.

It started to recover yesterday and now is fully functional again.

I do wish that I hadn't wiped it now, but most of the critical data was backed up so it's just a matter of remembering what apps I had that I really want back on there.
