Most people who celebrate Christmas also celebrate with special foods, and in particular, cookies. Some do so by having a cookie exchange. A few of us attempted a holiday breads exchange last year, with limited success. I'm willing to give it a go again, but would like to offer an alternative as well.
Would you, dear Plimate, rather participate in a recipe exchange thread, or a snailmail cookie exchange?
Traditionally, a cookie exchange would involve mailing a dozen cookies to a certain number of people and receive cookies from that same number of folks. There would be a target receipt date as well. We can keep the number low for privacy reasons, but keep in mind, that's how many different kinds of cookies you'd receive. Is 3 agreeable to those of you interested?
If you'd rather just exchange recipes, you can post your favorite in your response.
I'll take votes until Nov. 1, then we can let the games begin.
If enough out of the US plimates participate, we could go international and have them trade among themselves. And, I know it's early in the season yet, so am looking forward to more comments and participants. I sent a box of cookies to a Belgian plimate, and two things surprised me: how long it took for them to get there, and yes, it was a little expensive. But I tucked a few other things in the box besides cookies. (Another story altogether, and one someone else will have to tell.)
