 Scientists break speed of light
Scientists break speed of light
The clever boffins have finally managed to break the speed of light. A light pulse was so fast that it "exited a specially-prepared chamber before it even finished entering it." picked by TheStep 3 years ago

So why did the CBC file this one under "health"?

Big deal. I do that with my wife once a week.

But seriously...
This means that, when the waves of the light distorted, the pulse traveled forward in time.
O_o!!!!! They just built a freakin' time machine!

My question is this. If you break the speed of light with light have you actually broken the speed of light, or have you just re-defined the speed of light; thereby making your experiment THAT much harder to actually break the speed of light?

Other than that, this is pretty cool.

They haven't sped the speed of light up at all.

All they've done is create a chamber in which time travels faster than the rest of the world outside of the chamber.

Duhhhh.

Actually, I think it's a phenomenal post. I would have loved Einstein to be alive today so he could either refute the claims, or say, "oh s**t"

The only part of this story that I don't like is the pandering to Einstein, unless you're talking about the dog.

I prefer to use the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator myself.
