*Hypothetical Situation*

Grampa passes away. In his will, he tells you that buried in the yard is a jar full of gold tooth-fillings which were scavenged from Jews during the holocaust. He outlines further that he expects you to sell the gold fillings and use the money to put his Grandkids through college. (You need the money) Would you respect his wishes? If so, would you tell the kids?

I have cousins who won't let our mutual aunt help out with her kids needs. No clue why, certainly nothing like this.

Isn't it more important to get the education for the kids? If you didn't do the 'dirty' part, is the money still forever tainted?

Wouldn't it be ironic if the kids, in order to pay for their college tuition ... turn to the adult movie industry for work?

Assuming you liked Grampa, and want the kids to keep their good memories of him, just saying that he left them some gold in his will that he wanted sold off to pay for their college is a good enough explanation... although I picture it eventually turning into the episode from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" where Mac(?) finds out his grampa was a nazi.

A few years ago, I took to hanging out with some younger folks who like to have a drink. One time, we went to Sunset Junction, a huge yearly block party in Silver Lake. We were already buzzed upon arrival, and one of the girls in the party, a sort of fabulous mess, saw a Mercedes parked on the street, and went over, pulled up her skirt, and sat on the grill, peeing on it, while loudly condemning the owner for "buying a car developed by a company with Nazi ties." Probably the truth was, she was dying for a piss, and needed an excuse, but I remember seeing the car's owner on his balcony looking on in a kind of shock, and fear.

I hadn't the heart to remind her that she drove a VW Golf.
